yes, you are right however one has to start from somewhere. Tonga is full of academics, wise people of all sorts.

When you read the posts of this thread, you would find that the purpose is 'to empower the individuals' to start doing something from 'within'. When one gains strength 'within', it will inspire that person to confront poverty from personal level.

Poverty is not about money. It is about 'self worth, self values, self confident, self esteem, & positive attitude'. When an individual is confident and has self esteem, one can confront the management as you suggested. The 'connection' does not exist between the people and the management of Tonga. One has identified that the 'connection' is 'self confident, self esteem, positive attitude etc. One can gain confident when he/she has access to the appropriate information and knowledge.

The State of Pennsylvania has it now that all kids are covered by health insurance, they are going to work on getting all elderly covered then they are going to work on getting everyone covered. If you do not make enough money its free and depending on how much you make you pay a sliding scale depending on your salary.

If the state of Pennsylvania can do this then come on. I am from PA and believe me, they are not the brightest people in the world and if they can figure it out give me a break.

What keeps a national health plan away is special interest groups such as the health industry, pharmaceutical companies and anyone that would lose money on such a venture.

I honestly do not believe we will see a national health care program in my lifetime in America. I do believe I may end up moving back to PA at some point though.

You can. "Companies" are nothing but a bunch of wormbelly crooks, parasites, nothing more. People in charge of selling (and even making - see Bethesda for more info) games usually don't know jack about videogames. They know about money, and they know how to handle it. It's a tough job, there's a lot of hard work involved, but that doesn't make up for the fact that they are just a bunch of crooks. That's one of the reasons I try to support indies. And that's also one of the reasons why I believe all that "support your country" and worldwide crisis stuff is just bullshit thrown at us so we feel comfortable/fearful and let them keep eating our own food.

Like a man as busy as Murdoch is going to scrutinize what his tabloids say about a pop star ... I mean, come on! I bet you anything he never even reads the tabloids he owns so long as the numbers are up.

Remember when GM claimed in a press conference that his contract with Sony was "professional slavery" ... then years later in an MTV interview, he said he only said it because it was a good soundbite. He admitted it! I think the "Murdoch is the devil" line falls in the same category.

Ok if this orca has attacked this trainer once before why would you put this trainer back with this whale, obviously the whale does not like the trainer.

I volunteer at an aquarium and we do feeding and have chats telling people how to conserve the animals and more information about the animals ,so the people know more and will hopefully care more about them. We also have signs everywhere telling about the animals, conservation, and loss of their habitat.

My personally opinon is that if animals are endangered that they may have a better chance surviving in captivity, if they are taken care of in the right manner and if they are not 1) kept in a tank to small 2) are not forced to shows. I think in some cases it is ok to have animals in captivity, if there message is to educate and conserve but not if it is all about money or to make them do shows.

On 5th of May information was published that the second patient that was waiting for stem cells treatment in our Medical Academy in Sofia,Bulgaria had his successful treatment.

That's the whole information published so far.

Again is repeating the strange situation that the press release is occuring 3 days after the treatment.
This delay is suspicious at least for me.

Prof.Kiril Romansky - another famous person in the neurosurgery field in Bulgaria said that the current waiting list for this same treatment is 50 people.

He also said that if this procedure is being aproved from the Medical Insurance Institution , than this treatment will be for free (for BG) and will become common practise.

The problem is only financial NOT medical.

The strange fact is that there's no talking about the benefits of this treatment for the patients.

Yesterday and today there's an international neurosurgery conference in a mountain resort Borovetz in BG where on of the speakers will be the neurosurgerist that made my operation.

I was browsing thru news about the next Pan American games, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2007, just to find out that the Brazilian Olympic Committe had included five non olympic sports in the program (the host country can choose a few sports, besides the ones included in the Olympic Games). The chosen sports are Indoor Soccer, Karate, Squash, Bowling, Skating and Water Ski

This was the only chance we would have to try to put our sport in the olympic games someday...either BJJ or Sub Wrestling...but we missed as the presidents of both federations are only concerned on taking money out of the athletes...this really sucks...we have 2 national federations but they are all about money...the Pan American Games happen every 4 years and this is the first time they are held in Brasil...If we cannot try and put BJJ in this competition in home turf, no chance they will happen soon in the olympic games...a few years ago some reporter interviewed me and asked when BJJ would be in the games, I said, if we are lucky, maybe in 2024...I guess I was too optimistic...

I just thought of something. What would happen to communications (roads, phonelines etc) if they don't get repaired for 160 years? They dissapear! In the book "Earth Abides" the writer captured it pretty good. It's like Stephens Kings "the Stand" but more realistic. Only after a few months without maintanse the roads were almost undrivable. The book's hero, a guy named Ash, is desperatly trying to maintain a civilaztion in his little village. When his yougest son who's very bright and techical dies he gives up. The book describes what happens to the sons and daughter of an Apocalypse, how superstition and "old" childrens tales turn into life. The children of the survivors don't know about money and stuff like that and take a lot of things for granted. They don't understand why they should be able to read and write. The book ends with Ash dying of very old age but not before he sees how things have changed. His great grandchilds have returned to being more uncivilazed. In the epilouge it's described how different people in different places adjust to their new life after the world has ended.
That's how I think that the Fallout world should be.

I agree with you to an extent Big T but Bush should never have been elected in the first

place with the voting scandal in Florida according to F 9/11. The propaganda that news

channels across the world displayed was shocking, there is always a flip side to a coin

and F 9/11 showed that. Anyway I dont believe that propaganda stuff this was real

footage showing Bush's true colours he had obvious self interest in the Iraq war and

michael moore. makes movie/documentary on issues that are purely in the public medium. It is not a public notice or anything like that, it is about money and when he was confronted on the topics and subjects or more what he left out he completely fell apart like a little kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar and still trying to get out of it.

If you do not make enough money its free and depending on how much you make you pay a sliding scale depending on your salary.

What keeps a national health plan away is special interest groups such as the health industry, pharmaceutical companies and anyone that would lose money on such a venture.

I honestly do not believe we will see a national health care program in my lifetime in America. I do believe I may end up moving back to PA at some point though.

'Wrong victim' murder pair guilty

Noor and Sannoh used MAC-10 machine pistol to shoot dead Michael
Two men have been found guilty of murdering a 15-year-old boy who was shot dead as he slept at his home in south-east London.

Michael Dosunmu was shot four times when gunmen burst into the family home in Peckham in February 2007.

The Old Bailey heard that Michael was mistaken for his older brother who was to be killed in revenge for a murder.

Mohammed Sannoh, 19, from Peckham, and Abdi Omar Noor, 22, from Camberwell, south-east London, had denied murder.

They were remanded in custody for sentencing on Wednesday.
Michael was asleep in the bedroom he shared with his brother Hakeem, when Sanoh and Noor burst in and fired a MAC-10 machine pistol.
He was hit by four bullets - one of them piercing his heart and killing him.
Michael Dosunmu's mother on the verdict
Jonathan Laidlaw QC, prosecuting, said: "The intruders turned the light on and opened fire with a MAC-10 at a figure lying wrapped in a duvet.
"That person had no chance of surviving. He had done nothing wrong.
"It was a well-planned and well-executed execution. Over and above the shocking nature of this shooting, the tragedy is that these two defendants killed the wrong person."
The court heard that Michael's older brother Hakeem, 26, had been out at a club where he was trying to sell drugs when his church-going brother was killed.
It was Hakeem Dosunmu's links to a robbery gang and the murder of one of their members, that led the gunmen to the family home, jurors heard
Following the last robbery, three days earlier, one of the robbers, Javarie Crighton, was stabbed to death after confronting organiser Orando Madden about money.

I had the same question as Sean.

Thank you for addressing it.

I wish I could provide more information than I have, but I
really can't.

I also appreciate your "friendship" issue, and marvelled at how you walked the
"tightrope" between documenting the source of your reflections and maintaining
confidentiality.

It is terribly difficult. I really shouldn't say anything at
all, but it just burns me up to listen to arguments that suggest
the development team just *can't* do it, or that they aren't
*interested* in doing it. Or that OS/2 is dead when it is so
far from being dead you can't begin to imagine it.

The DOJ case against MS has really made a lot of things very
difficult for IBM. In the long run, it is a more important case
than anyone really imagines, and the talk about how they won't
do this or that because MS is so important holds absolutely no
water at all. IBM isn't the one in serious trouble right now.
MS is. MS *is* going to lose its monopoly status, and the
result of the court rulings is going to significantly impact the
industry in ways most of us cannot even imagine yet. And no
matter *what* MS says about it, the changes that are coming are
good news for everyone except MS itself. The only thing that
has to happen right now is that MS' power in the marketplace has
to be broken. Not their position of dominance, but their
ability to hold that position by resorting to illegal and
unethical business practices. The world will still be
predominantly MS, but MS won't have the power to force its will
on the industry, and without that power, its dominance will be
significantly reduced.

As IBM moves away from the policy of trying to compel software
developers to develop to the OS/2 API the degree of concern
software developers have about IBM's intentions will begin to
ease. With access to platform independent software to keep OS/2
alive, and the ability to run software that the rest of the
world can run, OS/2 is due to make a real comeback in marketing
terms. When OS/2 is selling well again because there will be
nothing to prevent it from selling well again, even the
thickheaded Lou Gerstner will eventually understand that there
is money to be made in it. Software companies will also realise
that there is money to be made in developing OS/2 software.
Reversing the mistakes of the past is going to be an incremental
process. Not everyone at IBM is pro-OS/2. Gerstner could care
less. But he cares about money. He'll support the
implementation of win32 code in OS/2 because he can sit back and
tell himself it will smooth the transition to Windows. The
development team will support it because it will remove one more
practical obstacle to making OS/2 successful. The policy makers
don't dictate outcome independent of market considerations. They
will go where the money is, and in the future there is still a
lot of money to be made out of OS/2.
